Deborah Holder MBACP
Counsellor and Psychotherapist
Whatever brings you to therapy, the counselling room is a safe, confidential space where you can share your story – and talk about whatever is on your mind at a pace that’s right for you. It’s a chance to explore where you are now, where you would like to be and how you can work towards getting there.
I am an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist.
Integrative therapy draws on the three main therapeutic models – humanistic-existential, cognitive-behavioural and psychodynamic. Everyone is different and I believe the best approach or integration of approaches is the one that best fits you and whatever you bring to counselling.
People come to therapy for all kinds of reasons. You may feel stuck, anxious or overwhelmed by emotions. Negative thinking patterns may be dominating your life. You may be coping with loss or change – the end of a relationship, bereavement, parenthood, the loss of a job or the challenges of a new one.
I have experience with a wide range of issues including those listed above but I welcome every new client as a unique and complex individual with their own very personal story to tell.
I work with adults, couples and young people and my experience includes counselling in NHS Primary Care, in private practice and within an educational setting. I am also a qualified clinical supervisor and offer to supervision to qualified and trainee counsellors.
I have a room in Archway North London and another directly opposite Euston station.
Before qualifying as a therapist I worked for 20 years as a journalist, writer and editor.
